Historic Buildings on Apliu Street
As one of the older districts in Hong Kong the area on and around Apliu Street hosts some of the more interesting historic buildings.
If you first arrive following the instructions on reach apliu street via MTR then as soon as you reach street level you will find the rounded corner buildings show the the typical style of the 1960's in Hong Kong when the area was more prosperous. Walk south beyond the flea market until you reach the intersection with Shep Kip Mei street to find more examples of this style.
For an even older style at number 96 now housing Maxington Textile limited is a building of even older style with pillars on the sidewalk supporting the overhanging building overhead. This traditional style of "Tong Lau", or shop house, used to be seen all over the area but now only a few remain.
